The Championship Event Series hosts two independent competitions each year - the New Zealand Championship (NZ Champs) and the Oceania Championship (OC Champs).
Each competition follows its own format, qualifier and in-person Individual and Team final. The below outlines the rules and structure for both events unless otherwise specified.
Competition Structure
Online Qualifier
The Championship Event Series includes two distinct competitions - the New Zealand Championship and the Oceania Championship. Each event begins with its own individual online qualifier, featuring a series of tests released via Competition Corner. Athlete performances are judged, validated, and ranked on their respective leaderboards. The top athletes in each division will qualify for that event’s in-person championship.
In-Person Championships
Qualified individuals and teams will advance to the finals specific to the event they qualified for - either the New Zealand Championship or the Oceania Championship. Event dates, divisions, and competition formats will be announced via official social media channels and Competition Corner.
Athlete and Team Eligibility
Registration
All athletes and teams must register for each event separately via Competition Corner before the published deadlines. Athletes must ensure they are registering for the correct event (NZ and/or Oceania) during the online qualifier, as each event is run independently with separate divisions, finals and prize structures. Athletes may register for both events if they wish. Athletes competing in an in-person final must also hold an active CrossFit.com account and complete registration on the CrossFit website. (not required for the online qualifier).
Eligibility for Titles and Prizes
The competition is open to all athletes regardless of nationality. Non-citizens may compete, win prize money and receive recognition as the New Zealand CrossFit Champion and the Oceania CrossFit Champion.
Affiliates with Multiple Teams
Multiple teams from the same affiliate gym may compete.
Team rosters are locked once the competition starts. Injured athletes may be replaced before the start of the event but not during the competition. Any mid-competition roster changes result in disqualification from further point accumulation.
Waivers
Athletes must agree, without limitation, to comply with the rules and guidelines stipulated in the NZ Champs and Oceania Champs Rules and Liability and Refund Policy, including the Assumption of Risk Waiver.

Invalid Submissions
Championship Event Series reserves the right to invalidate any score found to involve malicious intent or unfair advantage. Invalid scores will result in disqualification from the leaderboard.
